ANNOUNCEMENT
The Section of Economic, Legal and Sociology Sciences of the Romanian Academy announces the opening of the following management position for competition:
- Director of Research Center, Grade II, full-time, fixed-term individual employment contract (5-year mandate) at the Mountain Economy Center “CE-MONT”, Vatra Dornei.
1. General conditions for participation in the competition
Any person who cumulatively meets the following conditions may apply for the vacant position:
- has Romanian citizenship, citizenship of another member state of the European Union or of other states belonging to the European Economic Area, and domicile in Romania;
- has written and spoken command of the Romanian language;
- has full legal capacity;
- has not been definitively convicted for committing an offence against humanity, against the state or authority, for service-related or corruption offences, or for any intentional crime that would make the person incompatible with exercising the position, except where rehabilitation has occurred; is not involved in and does not have the status of accused or defendant in any criminal proceedings; has not caused any financial damage to a research and development institution; has not been disciplinarily sanctioned; is not employed in activities that would create conflicts of interest with those of the research institution;
- is medically fit to perform the duties of the position, certified by a medical certificate issued by the family doctor or an authorized medical unit;
- meets the education and other specific requirements of the position (higher education and a PhD in fields related to the center’s profile);
- has not been sanctioned for breaching fiscal regulations, proven by a fiscal record certificate;
- has not been disciplinarily sanctioned;
- has not caused any financial damage to a research and development institution, proven by a self-declaration;
- is not employed in activities that would create conflicts of interest with those of the research institution.

2. Specific requirements and conditions for the position
To be eligible for the position of director, in addition to the cumulative conditions listed in point 1 (a–j), the candidate must meet at least one of the following specific conditions:
- be a full or corresponding member of the Romanian Academy;
- be at least a Scientific Researcher Grade II or Associate Professor in a scientific field corresponding to the position (one of the disciplines researched within the center).
3. Documents required for the application file
When applying for the position of director, candidates must submit a competition file containing the following documents:
- application addressed to the President of the Romanian Academy;
- copy of the identity card;
- copy of the PhD diploma in the relevant field and copies of other diplomas or scientific titles;
- copy of the Order of the Minister of Education/Order of the Minister of Research, Innovation and Digitalization/Decision of the President of the Romanian Academy granting the professional degree of Scientific Researcher I/II or Professor/Associate Professor;
- Europass CV (signed and dated on each page);
- list of published scientific papers (signed and dated);
- scientific activity report (signed and dated);
- management project (signed and dated);
- medical certificate attesting good health, issued within six months prior to the competition;
- criminal record certificate;
- fiscal record certificate;
- self-declaration stating: absence of involvement in any criminal case, absence of financial damages caused to any research institution, absence of disciplinary sanctions, and absence of conflicts of interest.
At the time of submission, copies of documents must be accompanied by the originals for verification and certification as “true to the original.”
Files must be submitted and registered with the General Registry of the Romanian Academy, 125 Calea Victoriei, Sector 1, Bucharest, between 9:00–13:00, no later than November 12, 2025 (inclusive).

The competition consists of three stages
- Selection of candidates based on submitted files;
- Stage 1 – Interview to assess the candidate’s professional, motivational, and decision-making abilities, management experience, and knowledge of research and development legislation;
- Stage 2 – Presentation of the management project, evaluating the thematic strategy, quality, compliance with the center’s field of activity, efficiency factors (time, financial and human resources), and management proposals.
Competition schedule and procedure
- After the submission deadline, applications will be reviewed by the competition committee, and the results of the selection will be announced on November 14, 2025 via notice boards of the Romanian Academy and the Mountain Economy Center “CE-MONT,” as well as on their official websites (https://acad.ro/institutia/unitati_cercetare.html);
- Appeals regarding the selection results may be filed with the General Registry of the Romanian Academy within 2 working days from publication. Appeals will be resolved within 1 working day after the submission deadline;
- The interview and management project presentation will take place on November 25, 2025, at 13:00, at the headquarters of the Romanian Academy, 125 Calea Victoriei, Sector 1, Bucharest. Access will be granted based on ID; candidates must arrive 10 minutes before the start;
- The results of the interview and project presentation will be announced within one working day after the competition, via notice boards and official websites of the Romanian Academy and CE-MONT;
- Appeals regarding the results of the interview and project presentation may be filed within 2 working days from publication. Appeals will be resolved within 1 working day after the submission deadline;
- The final results will be announced on December 5, 2025, via notice boards and websites of the Romanian Academy and the Mountain Economy Center “CE-MONT.”
