“Radu Rey” (born September 17, 1940) holds a PhD in Veterinary Medicine (1989). He is an Honorary Member of the Romanian Academy and of the Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences “Gheorghe Ionescu Șișești”. He was awarded the Order “Star of Romania”, Knight rank (2000). He is a Senator of “Euromontana”.

President / State Secretary (founder) – Mountain Area Commission of Romania (1990–1992); General Director – National Agency of the Mountain Area (1994–1997); President – Mountain Forum of Romania (2002–2023); Member – National Mountain Council (2023).
